The Centre for Muslim Wellbeing (CMW) is appalled and heartbroken by the recent reports of alleged child abuse in several childcare centres across Melbourne. Our hearts are with the children and families directly affected — and with every parent, caregiver, educator, and community member feeling shaken, hurt, or fearful in the wake of this devastating news.
For many multicultural communities, this news may reawaken deep fears and painful memories, and serve as a stark reminder of how systems can fail to protect children and uphold community trust.
At times like this, it’s more important than ever to come together with care, compassion, and the reassurance that help is available. If you or someone you know is struggling, please know you are not alone. We’re here to support you and walk alongside you.
