PsychologistDina
Dina is the principal psychologist at Salam Psychology, a boutique, holistic private practice specialising in Perinatal Mental Health.
Dina holds a masters in Educational and Developmental Psychology and is a current PhD Candidate in cultural competence and ethical practice in psychology. Alongside extensive therapeutic experience across schools, private hospitals, psychiatry clinics and national mental health providers in the areas of relationships, suicidality, mood and personality, as well as perinatal mental health, Dina is an experienced educator and presently a sessional teaching associate in the Monash Graduate Diploma of Psychology.
Dina's approach to Psychology is holistic, decolonial, Trauma-Informed, and culturally safe. Salam Psychology is a neurodiversity-affirming practice that caters to a wide range of sensory needs. At Salam Holistic Psychology, we consider the whole person - mind, body, soul, social context and the interconnectedness of these aspects. In addition to addressing cognitive and emotional elements, we also acknowledge and respect the spiritual dimension of an individual's life, which can encompass values, beliefs, purpose, and meaning. Our approach to therapy is anti-racist and decolonial, ethical, respectful and trauma-informed. As the principal psychologist at Salam, I have extensive therapeutic experience across a variety of settings and concerns, including family violence, suicide prevention, trauma and identity concerns. Alongside offering generalist psychological services, I specialise in supporting women throughout their perinatal mental wellbeing journey from pre-conception, pregnancy, immediate postpartum and beyond. The parenting journey can be a transformative experience that often challenges our sense of worth, purpose, goals and identity.
If you are seeking a safe, holistic, and ethical therapeutic experience where your cultural and religious identity is respected and acknowledged, we would love to work with you. We operate via telehealth and are flexible on weekdays, evenings, and weekends. Medicare rebates are available. Please note: Email contact is preferred for a swift response.
