Where Olive Trees Weep – Film Screening & Panel Discussion

August 23 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm

With over 40,000 deaths in Gaza since October 7 and thousands more projected from famine, disease and causalities, listening to the stories of Palestinians under occupation and those in pursuit of justice is more important than ever.

‘Where Olive Trees Weep’ follows the emotional journeys of journalists Ashira Darwish and Amira Hass, activist Ahed Tamimi, and Dr Gabor Maté to uncover the ongoing trauma 75 years after the Nakba. The film provides background on the current crisis in Israel/Palestine and sheds light on human stories of intergenerational pain, trauma, and resilience. The documentary aims to touch your heart, stir compassion and understanding, and inspire a pursuit of justice. For without justice, peace remains an empty slogan.

The event will also include a panel discussion with professionals from pro-Palestinian and Palestinian community members post-screening.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to engage with a powerful piece of Palestinian storytelling, and an insightful exploration on the past, present and future of resistance.
