Drug and Alcohol Community Support & Education Workshop

The Centre for Muslim Wellbeing (CMW) is hosting a free community support and education workshop designed to empower families impacted by a loved one’s alcohol and/or drug dependency. This workshop provides a safe and supportive space to gain knowledge, tools, and strategies for coping with the challenges of addiction in the family.

What to Expect:
✅ Insights on understanding addiction and its effects on families
✅ Practical strategies to build healthier relationships and resilience
✅ A lived-experience speaker sharing their journey with addiction
✅ An interactive Q&A session to address participants’ concerns
✅ Access to additional resources and support networks

This workshop will be facilitated by Manal Shehab, a faith-based counsellor specializing in supporting families affected by addiction, and Omar Haniffa, a senior mental health occupational therapist with expertise in trauma and addiction recovery.
