ICMG MH is hosting a Mental Health First Aid Course to provide valuable skills in offering mental health support and first aid within the community. The course will take place at ICMG MH, 15-17 Hudson Circuit, Meadow Heights VIC 3048, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The program is free to attend, with registration required, and light refreshments will be provided.

About Mental Health First Aid Certificate Training

The 12-hour Standard Mental Health First Aid course is for any interested adult, community group, school, or corporate organisation.

You will learn how to assist an adult who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves, using a practical, evidence-based action plan.

This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.

Learn about the signs and symptoms of common and disabling mental health problems in adults, how to provide initial help, where and how to get professional help, what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective, and how to provide first aid in a crisis. This is an education course to learn how to give first aid to others, not a therapy or support group.
